[California State University, Fresno] Perpetrator, Savior or Bystander: Jemal Pasha and the Armenian Genocide – A Reassessment

Dear Colleague,

The Armenian Studies Program at California State University, Fresno, is planning to hold a conference tentatively titled, “Perpetrator, Savior or Bystander: Jemal Pasha and the Armenian Genocide – A Reassessment,” which will be held on Friday evening 6 May and Saturday, 7, May 2022 on the California State University, Fresno campus.

You are invited to submit a title and abstract for papers to be delivered at this gathering by 15 February, 2022. The abstract should be about 300 words in length. This, along with a brief C.V., should be forwarded to Barlow Der Mugrdechian (barlowd@csufresno.edu) and Ara Sarafian (ara@gomidas.org). The language of the conference is English. The presentations are expected to be 20-25 minutes in length. The Armenian Studies Program will cover round trip travel expenses (coach class to Fresno Yosemite International Airport), three nights accommodation, and some meals during the length of the conference.

It is the intention to publish the conference proceedings as articles in an edited volume. The deadline for working drafts is 15 April 2022, giving us the option to circulate them among the participants prior to the conference.

The conference co-organizers are Barlow Der Mugrdechian, Ara Sarafian and Umit Kurt. The conference is sponsored by the Armenian Studies Program, California State University, Fresno.
